‘Breath’, Iran’s only representative in the Academy Awards has been removed from the Oscars.
Directed by Narges Abyar, the movie was previously selected to compete at the foreign language film section of the event.
Out of the lineup of 90 movies, only nine films managed to qualify for the final stage of the competition.
Produced by Mohammad-Hossein Ghassemi and Abouzar Pourmohammadi, ‘Breath’ depicts the daily life of a daydreaming little girl, Bahar, and her persistent efforts to discover the world so she can experience life with all its sweetness and bitterness in her own way.
The 90th Oscars will be held on March 4, 2018, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
